About the role
Role Overview
Ascend Learning is seeking a UX Designer to create intuitive, user-centered experiences for its digital products. The role emphasizes strong design fundamentals and the use of AI tools as a creative multiplier to accelerate ideation and iteration.
Responsibilities
- AI-Augmented Design: Use AI tools (e.g., Claude and generative design/ideation platforms) to rapidly concept, explore design directions, and iterate.
- End-to-End UX Design: Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes that balance user needs with business outcomes.
- Research & Validation: Plan and conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions with real evidence.
- Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders across the product lifecycle.
- Design Systems: Contribute to and evolve the design system to ensure scalable, consistent experiences.
- Design Excellence: Promote best practices in interaction design, accessibility, and established design patterns.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in UX or product design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field.
- Proficiency in Figma.
- Strong communication skills; ability to present and defend design decisions.
- Ability to work with front-end developers and contribute to design-to-dev handoffs.
- Portfolio showing design process and impact on user and business outcomes.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-powered design and ideation tools (e.g., Claude and similar generative tools).
