Role Overview
ELM Utility Services is hiring a Utility Locate Technician for the Springfield, Nebraska area. Technicians help keep underground utilities dependable and well-maintained by accurately marking locations to prevent damage during excavation.
Responsibilities
- Work independently outdoors using a company-provided vehicle as a mobile office
- Complete a daily route of utility locate requests
- Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using tools such as:
- marking paint
- flags
- sometimes whiskers
- Use a mobile work system / LaunchPoint software to receive and manage daily tasks
Requirements
- Pass pre-employment:
- drug test
- Motor Vehicle Record check
- background check
- Safety-sensitive DOT role compliant with Federal Department of Transportation regulations
- 18+ years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Marijuana use is prohibited for this position under DOT requirements
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage: $22.00–$30.00/hour (depending on experience)
