About the role
Role Overview
User Researcher (partner company)
Shape meaningful digital experiences by uncovering user needs and turning research into actionable product insights. You’ll conduct qualitative research across complex digital products, supporting discovery, usability evaluation, and strategy/design decisions in a human-centered environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct qualitative user research (e.g., one-on-one interviews, group research sessions, contextual inquiries, usability testing)
- Partner with stakeholders to define objectives, target user groups, key questions, assumptions, and exploration areas
- Create research plans, discussion guides, documentation, and supporting materials
- Analyze findings to identify patterns, themes, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights
- Synthesize inputs from UX audits, accessibility reviews, workflow/content evaluations, surveys, and operational data
- Translate research insights into clear recommendations for product strategy, design decisions, and prioritization
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to validate findings and uncover opportunities
- Deliver research artifacts (reports, insight summaries, presentations, opportunity frameworks, next steps)
- Present outcomes to client teams and support leadership conversations with evidence-based storytelling
- Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, project managers, and technical teams to integrate insights
- Provide feedback on research artifacts and synthesis approaches
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of experience conducting UX research for digital products/platforms/services
- Strong qualitative research expertise, including independently planning and executing research initiatives
- Ability to reduce complexity and ambiguity into clear, strategic recommendations
- Excellent facilitation skills (especially in remote/cross-functional settings)
- Strong written and verbal communication; experience creating client-facing documentation and presentations
- Experience working with UX designers, product managers, engineers, and technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in complex environments with multiple stakeholders and changing priorities
- Familiarity with tools/workflows such as Figma/FigJam, Miro, Zoom-based facilitation, and Google Workspace
Nice to Haves
- Experience in public sector, education, nonprofit, healthcare, or other regulated environments
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive research practices
- Experience across multiple project phases or long-term engagements
