User Researcher (Growth)

Join Notion as a User Researcher (Growth) to shape growth-related product decisions by delivering insights for AI-powered experiences. You will study how people experience Notion with AI and translate findings into actionable recommendations for product and business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute user research to evaluate how users experience Notion with AI, including:
  • discovery
  • trust
  • perceived value
• Run mixed-methods studies (qualitative + quantitative), such as:
  • interviews
  • concept tests
  • prototype tests
  • diary studies
  • surveys
• Provide actionable insights to deepen understanding of users, identify business opportunities, and guide decision-making.
• Connect research to growth and business outcomes and communicate insights to different audiences.

Requirements

• 3+ years of UX research experience
• Strong AI product fluency (hands-on curiosity and reasoning about how AI behavior affects product experience)
• Business-mindedness: link insights to strategy, growth, and/or revenue
• Data fluency with experimentation and using behavioral data to refine research questions and interpret results
• Pragmatism: experience running research in fast-moving 0→1 environments; comfortable with ambiguity
• Communication: tailor research communication to stakeholders; creative formats (e.g., videos, podcasts, workshops)
• Systems thinking and ability to understand user journeys and growth engines
• Experience researching AI-enabled products, especially agentic/workflow automation, growth journeys, and B2B products
• Familiarity with influential thinkers in computing (e.g., Engelbart, Alan Kay, Bret Victor)
• Ability to communicate research to executive stakeholders

Nice to have

• Research experience with AI research tools (e.g., Outset, Listen Labs, Dovetail)
• Master’s or PhD in HCI, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, or related fields
