User Interface Engineer (Remote)

Role Overview

Hire Feed’s client is seeking a User Interface (UI) Engineer on a contract basis. You will design, develop, and maintain user interfaces that support the training and evaluation of next-generation AI systems, helping enable high-quality real-world input for AI model learning and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable UI components using React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver user-centric solutions.
• Translate complex technical and business requirements into responsive, accessible, performance-optimized interfaces.
• Own UI quality by applying best practices in code quality, UI design, and performance; conduct code reviews.
• Identify and fix UI/UX issues to continuously improve usability for global users.
• Mentor peers on front-end standards and foster technical excellence and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional front-end development with strong React and TypeScript experience.
• Solid fundamentals in component-based architecture and state management.
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS, plus modern CSS frameworks such as Tailwind CSS or Material-UI.
• Ability to convert wireframes/mockups into functional, pixel-perfect UI using tools like Figma or Adobe XD.
• Knowledge of front-end performance optimization (e.g., bundle analysis, code splitting, lazy loading).
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and collaborative team workflows.
• Strong independent work habits in a remote, async-first environment with clear communication and documentation.

Nice-to-Haves (Not Required)

• Domain experience in AI / machine learning / data labeling is not required; front-end expertise is the primary focus.

Contract & Location

• Remote (work from anywhere)
• Rate: $30–$70/hour
