About the role

Role Overview

Senior UX Designer (UX Designer 2) designing intuitive, effective user interfaces for mission-critical systems in a high-assurance environment. You will lead UX efforts across the full project lifecycle, partnering with engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Plan, design, and develop user experiences for mission-critical devices, tools, and systems
Establish and enforce interaction standards, usability conventions, and visual design principles for consistent quality across projects
Gather, analyze, and refine user requirements with engineers, SMEs, and stakeholders
Create wireframes, screen mockups, and prototypes to communicate design concepts and system functionality
Participate in design trade-off discussions to balance usability with technical and mission constraints
Assess existing tools/platforms/technologies to improve user interaction and overall system effectiveness
Apply visualization and screen design expertise to produce intuitive, accessible interfaces
Support adoption of emerging interaction techniques and innovative design approaches
Ensure designs comply with security, accessibility, and usability standards for high-assurance environments

Requirements

10 years of professional UX design experience
5 years of recent experience supporting or leading project lifecycle design efforts
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or 4 additional years of relevant UX experience in lieu of degree)
Demonstrated experience designing for complex systems and/or enterprise-level applications
Strong collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams
Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and visual design concepts
Knowledge of interaction standards, usability conventions, and visual design principles
Ability to analyze tools/platforms/technologies to improve user interaction and system performance
Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering
