About the role

Role Overview

Join AppFolio as a User Experience (UX) Designer for its Agentic AI Leasing product. You’ll design cross-channel, business-oriented experiences spanning voice, text, and web, with a focus on optimizing the leasing customer journey through intuitive conversational flows.

Responsibilities

Lead UX design for conversational AI experiences in the leasing domain, aligning flows to both user needs and business goals
Partner with Product Management on roadmaps and strategic planning; advocate for end-user needs
Apply Lean UX practices (e.g., design studios, story mapping) to solve complex design challenges
Collaborate with Software Engineers and QA within a scrum team during each sprint (brainstorms, reviews)
Create wireframes, user flows/flow diagrams, mockups, and prototypes to communicate and validate concepts
Conduct and support user research, including feedback collection and usability testing
Promote consistency with the design system UI patterns and participate in weekly design critiques
Maintain design documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of UX design experience
Strong product sense, technical aptitude, and curiosity
Proficiency with UX deliverables: customer journeys, wireframes, user flows, mockups, prototypes
Portfolio showing a comprehensive design process, creativity, and problem-solving
Experience conducting user research, analyzing data, and translating insights into improvements
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Agile UX and Lean UX; experience working in highly collaborative, agile environments

Nice to Have

Prior experience with agentic AI
Technical proficiency with design tools and familiarity with design systems
