User Experience Researcher (Wealth Management or Brokerage Experience)

Role Overview

Contract UX Researcher (Senior) for a fintech customer-facing platform focused on wealth management and brokerage experiences. You will lead high-impact research across the product development lifecycle to deliver actionable insights that improve usability, trust, and decision-making in a complex financial product environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute mixed-methods UX research (~70% qualitative, 30% quantitative)
• Design and run studies including:
  • User interviews
  • Usability testing
  • Diary studies
  • Surveys
  • Competitive analysis
  • Concept validation
• Partner with Product, Go-to-Market, Design, Data Science, Legal/Compliance, and Engineering to influence strategy and improve UX
• Conduct foundational research on how consumers manage wealth and use financial products
• Evaluate end-to-end user flows to identify friction points and trust barriers
• Perform behavioral and audience-based analysis to understand how different user groups engage
• Benchmark experiences against competing wealth management/brokerage apps
• Turn ambiguous product questions into clear research plans, findings, and stakeholder recommendations

Requirements (Must-Have)

• 5+ years of UX research experience across the product development lifecycle
• Proven ability to lead both qualitative and quantitative research using varied methods
• Direct domain experience in wealth management, brokerage, or complex financial services products
• Strong synthesis skills to create insights that shape product direction and influence senior stakeholders
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with autonomy and adaptability
• Strong communication and cross-functional presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with behavioral economics, decision science, or consumer behavior research
• Experience supporting 0 to 1 products or early-stage experimental features
• Ability to partner with analytics/data science teams to combine qualitative and quantitative insights
