User Experience Researcher

Role Overview

The User Experience Researcher II will help product teams deeply understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations through high-impact, mixed-methods UX research across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Execute generative and evaluative UX research to inform product strategy, design decisions, and overall user experience.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to:
  • Define research questions
  • Uncover insights
  • Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations
• Conduct research planning and participant recruitment, including scheduling and outreach.
• Synthesize findings using UX research frameworks and communicate results effectively.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of professional experience in UX research (or related role).
• Hands-on experience recruiting participants (e.g., scheduling tools, third-party panels, incentives, and customer outreach).
• Demonstrated experience with both:
  • Generative methods: contextual inquiry, in-depth interviews, diary/field studies
  • Evaluative methods: usability testing, concept/prototype testing, heuristic reviews
• Strong understanding of PII protection requirements.
• Experience with research/analysis tools such as Qualtrics, Dovetail, SharePoint, Teams, and Excel.
• Familiarity with product analytics tools such as Pendo, FullStory, or similar.
• Ability to work with wireframes and prototypes in Figma.
• Knowledge of UX research frameworks and synthesis approaches.

Contract & Location

• Remote, with Chicago, IL preferred
• 12-month contract
• Pay: $40–50/hr
