About the role
Role Overview
User Experience Researcher (UX Researcher) — Remote
- Duration: 12+ months
- Work closely with the BizTech UXR team to help data scientists, product managers, and engineers understand user needs.
- Influence product development across all stages, ensuring products are useful, usable, and delightful.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent research across multiple product and experience areas.
- Collect and analyze user behavior using methods such as:
- Lab studies and field visits
- Ethnography
- Surveys and benchmark studies
- Server logs and online experiments (A/B Testing)
- Usability testing
- Interviews
- Diary studies, participatory workshops, contextual inquiry, and ethnography
- Prioritize research opportunities with Design, Product Management, Engineering, and other UX researchers.
- Translate technical and business requirements into research plans.
- Communicate findings to diverse audiences via written reports and in-person presentations.
Required Skills / Qualifications
- Master’s degree in HCI, Social Science, Psychology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of industrial UX research experience in a fast-paced environment (or equivalent).
- 4+ years applying qualitative and quantitative methods, including:
- Semi-structured interviews
- Usability testing
- Contextual inquiry
- Literature reviews
- Qual/quant data analysis and survey research
- 4+ years conducting generative research.
- Demonstrated capability with methods such as:
- Usability Testing, Concept Testing
- Exploratory research, focus groups
- Large-scale qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
- Tools/analysis: SPSS, R, and content analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in HCI, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
- 5+ years managing projects in a large matrixed organization.
- Advanced data visualization, analysis, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of the strengths/limitations of research methods and when to apply them during the product lifecycle.
- Experience across multiple product spaces and in applied research or academic settings.
- Strong stakeholder communication to drive research impact.
