About the role

Role Overview

As a User Experience (UX) Designer at McGraw Hill, you’ll craft intuitive, accessible, and engaging user experiences for learning solutions used by learners and institutions. You’ll help drive the adoption of education technology through user-centered design and close collaboration with product, research, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with agile teams to create mockups and specifications that support seamless developer implementation.
  • Use and contribute to the McGraw Hill design system to maintain consistency across digital products.
  • Partner with researchers to conduct user research and iterate designs based on findings.
  • Stay current on competitor products and industry trends to keep solutions innovative.
  • Help foster a creative, collaborative design culture with awareness of the broader product roadmap.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of UX design experience, preferably delivering UX for complex digital applications across web and mobile.
  • Strong UX design skills including wireframing, prototyping, and delivering design specifications.
  • Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices/standards for inclusive design.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Portfolio required (applications without a portfolio will not be considered).
  • BA/BFA in Design, HCI, CS, or equivalent related experience.

Nice to Have

  • Basic familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (preferred, not required).
  • Experience in EdTech or designing complex digital solutions.

Compensation & Work Model

  • Remote position for applicants authorized to work in the United States.
  • Pay range: $98,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and location.
