About the role
Role Overview
Manage User Experience for Realm-X, AppFolio’s suite of AI agents and AI-driven experiences. You will lead a team of designers and partner with Product and Engineering to evolve products into an AI-first, collaborative experience that accelerates customer workflows.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and Engineering to define and execute the long-term roadmap for AI agent products
- Lead the evolution of AI components to ensure best-in-class user experiences
- Advocate for design strategy and solve complex challenges in agent-based UX
- Coach and mentor designers, removing blockers to deliver measurable outcomes aligned with business goals
- Establish design standards and implement evaluation frameworks to improve AI accuracy and interaction quality
- Ensure AI experiences address bias in AI representation and maintain inclusive, transparent UX
- Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies and incorporate best practices into design processes
Requirements
- Deep understanding of designing for AI technologies, especially Large Language Models (LLMs) and autonomous agents
- Experience leading teams through high-complexity problems using structured discovery and iterative prototyping
- Ability to translate design rationale into measurable business impact to gain cross-functional buy-in
- Proven skill navigating ambiguity and managing trade-offs between quality, technical feasibility, and business impact
- 6+ years of UX/Product Design experience, including 2+ years in a dedicated people-management role
- Demonstrated experience designing for AI-powered products, conversational interfaces, or intelligent systems
- Experience in 0-to-1 environments and defining new best practices
