Unpaid UI/UX Designer Internship

Role Overview

Unpaid UI/UX Designer Internship at Spruced (full-time, remote). You’ll help design intuitive, user-centered interfaces for Spruced’s web and mobile experiences, with a focus on clarity, ease of use, and visual consistency.

Responsibilities

• Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user flows
• Collaborate with product and engineering to turn requirements into usable designs
• Refine layouts, typography, and component behavior for consistency and usability
• Assist with user research and usability testing
• Synthesize feedback into design improvements
• Document design decisions for team alignment

Requirements

• Strong UI/UX foundation (wireframing, prototyping, interaction design for web/mobile)
• Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
• Understanding of user research/usability testing and how to apply insights to design
• Knowledge of information architecture, user flows, and accessibility
• Ability to collaborate in a remote team and communicate design rationale
• Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Design/HCI/Interaction Design (or related) or equivalent practical experience
• Portfolio demonstrating UI/UX work with problem-solving, iteration, and detail
• Interest in home management/consumer/AI-powered products and motivation to learn in a startup environment
