About the role

Role Overview

UI/UX Designer (100% remote) supporting a release platform for planning, executing, monitoring, and improving software releases. You will own large, complex internal tooling problems from discovery through delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Define the end-to-end user experience for how teams manage releases and deployments
  • Simplify complex operational and technical workflows into intuitive product flows
  • Design experiences that provide visibility, control, confidence, and accountability across the release lifecycle
  • Create workflows/patterns for:
    • release readiness
    • change review
    • deployment tracking
    • rollout status
    • incident awareness
    • rollback support
  • Partner with engineering to translate platform capabilities into usable product experiences
  • Identify confusing, fragmented, manual, or hard-to-scale areas of the current experience
  • Build a coherent interaction model and visual language for a high-signal internal platform
  • Produce wireframes, polished mocks, prototypes, and UX recommendations for iterative implementation

Qualifications

  • Strong experience designing internal tools, enterprise products, or operational workflows
  • Ability to make complex systems feel simple without losing critical detail
  • Systems thinking and information architecture skills
  • Experience designing dashboards and workflow- or configuration-heavy products
  • Comfort working with engineers on ambiguous early-stage platform problems
  • Proficiency in wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity UI design
  • Experience designing for states, edge cases, permissions, and operational risk
  • Clear communication and ability to work asynchronously with technical stakeholders

Nice-to-Haves / Required Skills (from posting)

  • Experience with release management, developer platforms, deployment tooling, or observability-adjacent workflows
  • Experience designing for platform/DevEx/infrastructure/reliability-oriented teams
  • Familiarity with highly technical users and operational decision-making environments
  • Ability to help define product direction when the design vision is still forming

  • Home office preferably in San Francisco, CA (94103)
