About the role
UI/UX Designer (Remote)
Contract-to-hire starting August 12 for 5 months.
Role overview
Own UX/UI improvements for one of the company’s core SaaS product areas (either Records or Licensing & Tax). You’ll partner with Product Managers and Engineering to identify user pain points, redesign workflows, and deliver intuitive, user-centered experiences.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Own UX/UI improvements for a core software product
- Analyze product analytics, user research, customer feedback, and support tickets to find usability and workflow bottlenecks
- Review and improve existing user journeys
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma
- Design new user experiences when workflows must be redesigned
- Validate decisions via usability testing and incorporate feedback
- Iterate designs based on testing and stakeholder input
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering through implementation
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning)
- Independently manage Jira tickets and drive initiatives with minimal oversight
- Ensure designs follow usability, accessibility, and product best practices
Minimum requirements
- 3–5 years of UI/UX or Product Design experience
- Expert-level Figma proficiency
- Experience designing digital products (not marketing sites/landing pages)
- Experience using analytics, user research, customer feedback, and usability testing to identify UX issues
- Experience owning the full design lifecycle: discovery/research → implementation → iteration
- Strong portfolio with detailed case studies showing research, decisions, and measurable outcomes
- Experience both enhancing existing products and designing net-new workflows
- Strong UX principles, interaction design, and usability knowledge
- Experience collaborating with Product Managers and Software Engineers in Agile environments
- Experience working with Jira
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter who can own projects with limited oversight
Preferred requirements
- Experience with Records Management software
- Experience designing business licensing or tax application UX
- Background in GovTech products
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design
- Experience with product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude, Pendo, Google Analytics)
Compensation & eligibility
- $35–45/hr (W2)
- Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, 401K
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; not eligible for sponsorship
