About the role
Role: UI/UX Designer, Marketplace
Own end-to-end experience design for a B2B marketplace, with a focus on improving conversion and adoption across key buyer journeys (add-to-cart, first purchase, second purchase, and ongoing feature usage). Design and iterate across web and mobile experiences, combining strong visual execution with practical, user-centered UX grounded in e-commerce and marketplace best practices.
Responsibilities
Experience Design & Conversion
- Own end-to-end UX for marketplace buyer workflows, optimizing add-to-cart, first purchase, second purchase conversion, and feature adoption
- Design and iterate on key user flows for both B2B and B2C buyers across web and mobile
- Ensure a consistent, user-centric experience aligned with e-commerce/marketplace best practices
- Use user data and platform gaps to identify opportunities and recommend improvements to Product/roadmap
Design Execution & Delivery
- Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups
- Review legacy UI/UX and deliver updated designs to address limitations
- Deliver production-ready specs to Engineering with clear annotations and guidance
- Build and maintain a component library, style guide, and design documentation
Navigation & Information Architecture
- Audit and redesign information architecture to reduce friction and improve discoverability and funnel conversion
- Maintain navigation maps and user flow documentation as shared references across teams
- Refine navigation structures using research, analytics, and post-launch feedback
Design Review & Quality
- Lead a recurring design review cycle with critiques and sign-offs before development begins
- Define design review checkpoints within sprints (stakeholder sign-off and pre-launch QA walkthroughs)
- Collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure implementation fidelity and track design debt
Research & Insight
- Gather user feedback and synthesize behavioral data (analytics, session recordings, interviews) into actionable insights
- Benchmark against competitive and best-in-class marketplace experiences
- Help Product translate insights into improved experiences
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product and Engineering to translate design intent into shipped product
- Participate in sprint planning/roadmap discussions as a design voice (advising on feasibility/effort)
- Advocate for design quality across the organization
Requirements / Qualifications
- End-to-end experience design capability across complex marketplace/buyer journeys
- Strong UX grounded in e-commerce/marketplace patterns and best practices
- Ability to translate insights from analytics and user research into actionable design recommendations
- Proficiency delivering production-ready design specs and maintaining design systems (component library/style guide)
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product and Engineering
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with design review processes and ensuring implementation fidelity
- Experience designing both B2B and B2C workflows across web and mobile
