UI/UX Designer

Role Overview

Mid-level UI/UX Designer to support user experience and interface design across Knowmadics’ product portfolio, primarily the 360 Aware operational SaaS platform. The role may also contribute to applied defense R&D programs, including human-machine interface design for emerging capabilities.

Responsibilities

• UI/UX Design & Prototyping

  • Apply user-centered design (UCD) to create workflows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI designs for web, mobile, and complex mission-system interfaces.
  • Use AI-powered design tools/workflows to accelerate prototyping and generate design variations.
  • Create functional prototypes using tools such as Figma, Axure, or Adobe Aero at varying fidelity levels.
  • Use and contribute to the design system and component library to maintain visual consistency.
  • Design for multiple interface paradigms, including dashboards and evolving program-specific concepts.

• User Research & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support user research activities (e.g., heuristic evaluations, field observations, structured interviews).
  • Gather feedback on UI/UX concepts and synthesize insights to drive iteration.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and end users to translate needs into solutions.
  • Present design rationale and findings to internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaboration & Cross-Portfolio Contribution

  • Work across multiple products/programs based on team priorities.
  • Prepare design briefs and annotated assets to enable effective handoffs and provide structured feedback.
  • Maintain organized shared assets/documentation in Figma and Confluence.
  • Coordinate with engineering to ensure feasibility and consistency during implementation.
  • Track tasks in Jira and participate in agile workflows.

Requirements

• Mid-level UI/UX experience with a portfolio demonstrating user-centered design across web, mobile, and complex application domains.
• Strong foundation in UI design and UX methodology.
• Ability to work across multiple products/teams and adapt to different contexts.
• Experience using prototyping/design tooling (e.g., Figma, and familiarity with other prototyping tools).

Nice to Have

• An AI-forward mindset and experience integrating AI-powered workflows into day-to-day design.
• Experience with data visualization dashboards and mission/defense-adjacent interface concepts.
• Familiarity with design systems/component libraries and documentation practices in shared tools.
