About the role

Role Overview

The Center for the Economics of Ideas is seeking a remote UI/UX Designer on a contract basis to establish a unified visual identity across multiple education-focused software products. You will shape a consistent product ecosystem while focusing most on usability.

Responsibilities

Identify and resolve user experience challenges across multiple products
Create and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI standards
Produce mock-ups, design assets, and design specifications for developers
Build a cohesive visual identity unifying the product suite
Design experiences that motivate and encourage learners to engage
Collaborate with developers to ensure products are usable, attractive, and consistent

Requirements

Strong portfolio showcasing recent application/product design work (required)
Deep understanding of usability and accessibility standards
Strong foundation in HTML and CSS, plus modern design tools
Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Nice to Have

Knowledge of Python and PyQt
Experience designing for educational products
