About the role
Role Overview
The Center for the Economics of Ideas is seeking a remote UI/UX Designer on a contract basis to establish a unified visual identity across multiple education-focused software products. You will shape a consistent product ecosystem while focusing most on usability.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve user experience challenges across multiple products
- Create and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI standards
- Produce mock-ups, design assets, and design specifications for developers
- Build a cohesive visual identity unifying the product suite
- Design experiences that motivate and encourage learners to engage
- Collaborate with developers to ensure products are usable, attractive, and consistent
Requirements
- Strong portfolio showcasing recent application/product design work (required)
- Deep understanding of usability and accessibility standards
- Strong foundation in HTML and CSS, plus modern design tools
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Python and PyQt
- Experience designing for educational products
