About the role

Role overview

DataAnnotation is looking for a UI/UX Designer to help train and improve AI models by assessing and refining AI-generated design outputs. You will evaluate interfaces, layouts, visuals, and user experiences, and provide detailed feedback to improve the models’ aesthetics, usability, and creative quality.

Responsibilities

Review and critique AI-generated UI/UX designs, mockups, and visuals
Evaluate the quality of AI outputs for correctness and performance
Help train models to better understand aesthetic quality and user-centered design

Qualifications

Fluency in English (native or bilingual)
Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design
Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, interaction design, and user flow
Excellent command of grammar, style, and brand voice
Bachelor’s degree preferred (current/in-progress/completed)

Nice-to-haves / additional details

Apply through the general core assessment, then complete a qualification for Web & UI/UX Design to access design-specific projects
Design projects may include UI/UX critique, product visuals, and aesthetic evaluation deliverables

Contracting, location, and schedule

Independent contract; remote with flexible scheduling
United States only
Project selection: you can choose which projects to work on

Compensation

General AI training: $25–$30+ USD/hour
Design-focused projects: $40+ USD/hour
Bonuses for exceptional work
Payment via PayPal (no applicant fees requested)
