About the role
Role Overview
Join as a UI Layer Engineer (Frontend) building highly responsive, data-driven web applications for network simulation and virtualization. You will enable users to design, visualize, and manage virtual network topologies in a fully remote environment on EST hours.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain interactive network topology interfaces (drag/drop, connect, configure virtual network devices)
- Develop high-performance frontend apps for large environments (e.g., hundreds of nodes)
- Implement state management for real-time simulation data and configuration updates
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver intuitive, modern, accessible experiences
- Integrate with RESTful and GraphQL APIs
- Create reusable UI components for networking/infrastructure-focused applications
- Render complex topologies using visualization tech such as SVG, Canvas API, and graph visualization libraries
- Support real-time functionality via WebSockets and other async communication methods
- Partner with backend engineers to ensure seamless data integration and application performance
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional frontend development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, HCI, or related field
- Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to obtain/maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
- Expert in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Angular)
- Experience with TypeScript and state management tools (Redux, Pinia, NgRx)
- Hands-on experience with visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, Cytoscape.js, JointJS) and SVG/Canvas
- Experience integrating real-time async technologies (WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, REST/GraphQL)
- Proficiency with testing/performance tools (Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse) and workflows
Nice to Have (from keywords/tools)
- Tailwind CSS and modern component-based frontend architecture
- Strong frontend architecture practices for large-scale SPA/dashboard experiences
Compensation
- $135,000 - $175,000 annually (based on experience)
