About the role

Role Overview

GRVTY is seeking an experienced UI Front End Software Engineer (SWE3) for the CODEX program at Annapolis Junction, MD. You will lead a team of UI developers while staying hands-on across the full software lifecycle in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of UI/front-end developers (technical guidance, standards, and code reviews)
Design front-end architecture and coding standards; ensure scalable and maintainable solutions
Translate UX/UI prototypes and design specifications into functional, responsive, accessible interfaces
Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs and ensure efficient data flow
Contribute to full-stack development as needed (backend services, database interactions, deployment pipelines)
Establish and enforce front-end best practices and component reuse
Partner with UX/UI and systems engineers to preserve design intent during implementation
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, cross-browser issues, and technical debt
Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, and architectural decision-making
Ensure compliance with accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG
Review and test software components against design requirements; document results
Resolve software problem reports and provide input for system-level to component-level design (including hardware/software trade-offs and COTS/GOTS reuse)

Requirements (Must Have)

Active TS/SCI + Polygraph clearance (applicable to the customer)
12+ years as a SWE on programs/contracts of similar scope/complexity
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related); 4 years additional SWE experience may substitute
7+ years in Software Database and Repository Interface Development
Proven experience leading or mentoring a development team
Strong proficiency with modern front-end frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue
Strong web fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Full-stack experience including backend development (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java) and RESTful/GraphQL API design
Experience with state management, component-based architecture, and responsive design
Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines

Experience working in mission-critical, processing-intensive, and real-time systems environments
