About the role

Role Overview

UI Engineer (Remote) — contract role ($30–$70/hour). You’ll build and maintain responsive, accessible, high-performance UI components for a technology platform, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable front-end features.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement responsive, accessible, performant UI components using modern frameworks.
Collaborate with designers to convert wireframes/mockups into functional interfaces.
Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility while keeping design system consistency.
Optimize UI performance by identifying and resolving rendering and load-time bottlenecks.
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices and accessibility standards.

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with experience in React or Vue.js.
Responsive design experience and familiarity with CSS preprocessors (Sass or Less).
Solid UI/UX understanding with the ability to implement pixel-perfect designs.
Experience with state management (Redux and/or Context API) and asynchronous programming.
Knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to Have

Experience working within a design system and delivering consistent UI across devices/browsers.
Strong accessibility practices for production-ready interfaces.
