UI Engineer (Remote)

Contract role (Work from anywhere in the US).

Role Overview

Build and maintain responsive, accessible, high-performance UI components for a technology platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable front-end solutions and convert design artifacts into polished user interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement responsive, accessible, performant UI components using modern frameworks
• Collaborate with designers to turn wireframes and mockups into functional interfaces
• Ensure cross-browser/device compatibility while keeping design system consistency
• Improve UI performance by identifying and fixing bottlenecks in rendering and load times
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code that follows best practices and accessibility standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript skills and proficiency in React or Vue.js
• Experience with responsive design and CSS preprocessors (Sass or Less)
• Solid UI/UX fundamentals and ability to implement pixel-perfect designs
• Familiarity with state management (Redux or Context API) and asynchronous programming
• Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines for deployment

Contract Compensation

• $30–$70/hour
