Role overview

UI Engineer (Remote) — contract role to build and maintain responsive, accessible, high-performance UI components for a technology platform. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams (including designers) to deliver scalable solutions with strong design-system consistency.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement responsive, accessible, and performant UI components using modern frameworks
Collaborate with designers to turn wireframes and mockups into functional interfaces
Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility while maintaining design system standards
Optimize UI performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks in rendering and load times
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices and accessibility standards

Required skills / qualifications

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with experience in React or Vue.js
Experience with responsive design principles and CSS preprocessors (Sass or LESS)
Strong understanding of UI/UX and ability to implement pixel-perfect designs
Familiarity with state management (e.g., Redux, Context API) and asynchronous programming
Knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines for deployment

Nice to have

Experience working with global, technology-focused product teams and design systems

Contract / pay

$30–$70 per hour
Remote (work from anywhere)
