UI Engineer Intern

Role Overview

UI Engineer Intern (Unpaid) to support frontend implementation across the pipeline—from local development to staging validation and production release support.

Schedule/Duration

• 15–20 hours/week
• 4–6 months
• Remote
• U.S.-based applicants only (no visa sponsorship)

Responsibilities

• Build new frontend screens from Figma designs using AI-assisted workflows.
• Convert Figma designs into responsive, production-quality frontend code.
• Implement and support frontend work across local → staging → production workflows.
• Perform frontend/API integration with backend APIs already built by the engineering team.
• Handle authentication flows, API states, loading/empty/error states, validation, and edge cases.
• Maintain and extend existing frontend components, design system patterns, and responsive layouts.
• Debug frontend and full-stack integration issues.
• QA-minded self-testing before handoff (user flows, edge cases, data limitations, acceptance criteria).
• Contribute documentation for tickets (user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases, data limitations, implementation notes).

Requirements

• Master’s-level student or recent Master’s graduate.
• Real frontend experience (explicitly not a beginner role).
• Comfortable building UIs with modern frontend frameworks.
• Able to read documentation, solve problems independently, and use AI-assisted development tools.
• Detail-oriented and capable of producing visual-accuracy-first implementations.

Nice to Have

• Comfort being “production-minded” (front-to-back implementation thinking: idea → implementation → review → staging → production).
• Strong QA mindset even without running formal QA cycles.
