UI Engineer Intern

Role Overview

UI Engineer Intern at Marketeq Talent supporting frontend implementation end-to-end: local development, staging validation, and production release support. This is an unpaid, part-time internship (15–20 hours/week) for a Master’s-level student or recent Master’s graduate with real frontend experience.

Responsibilities

• Build new frontend screens from Figma designs using AI-assisted workflows (e.g., Claude CLI, OpenAI Codex, Cursor)
• Ensure strong visual accuracy first, then refine into clean, responsive, production-ready code
• Perform frontend/API integration with backend APIs already built by the engineering team
• Implement and validate authentication flows and handle API/UI states:
  • loading, empty, validation, error states, and edge cases
• Maintain/extend existing components, design system patterns, and responsive layouts
• Use existing component libraries and project conventions (avoid unnecessary new UI patterns)
• Debug frontend and full-stack integration issues
• Self-test before QA handoff: functional behavior, user flows, edge cases, data limitations, and acceptance criteria
• Contribute to ticket documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases, data limitations, and implementation notes

Requirements

• Not a beginner role: must already be comfortable building UI with modern frontend frameworks
• Ability to work independently, read documentation, and solve problems
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools to move faster without sacrificing quality
• QA-minded approach to development (even though official QA cycles are handled by QA)

Internship Details

• Unpaid, part-time: 15–20 hours/week
• Duration: 4–6 months
• Schedule: Remote
• Location eligibility: U.S.-based applicants only; must be legally authorized for remote internship in the U.S.
