UI Developer (CSS + React, Visual Focus) -- Contract

Role Overview

Contract UI Developer focused on visual polish and UI refinement in a React codebase. The engagement is expected to last 3–4 months with remote work.

Responsibilities

• Translate visual mockups into polished, production-quality UI using CSS.
• Refine and elevate existing UI rather than starting from scratch most of the time.
• Improve spacing, layout, typography, and color consistency.
• Add interaction details: hover states, transitions, and responsiveness.
• Handle real-world UI edge cases while preserving visual quality.
• Occasionally create simple UI from scratch when needed.

Requirements

• Strong visual taste and excellent CSS skills.
• Comfortable working in React, primarily refining/modifying existing components (and collaborating with engineers when needed).
• High attention to detail and pride in pixel-perfect UI.
• Portfolio showing UI you’ve both implemented and designed.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with games or other highly visual products.
• Motion/animation sensibility.
• Experience working closely with designers.
• Good understanding of image formats and ability to integrate/edit assets (e.g., icon integration and tuning).
