UI Designer, Equity

Role Overview

Join insightsoftware’s newly established UX team for the Certent Equity Management (CEM) product organization as a UI Designer, Equity. Reporting to the UX Manager, you’ll design intuitive, production-ready, visually consistent interfaces that translate complex equity compensation workflows into usable experiences.

Responsibilities

• Interface design & execution: Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and UI specifications for CEM features across domains such as:

  • equity plan administration, ESPP, batch processing, broker integrations
  • admin and financial reporting, participant experiences

• Translate PRDs, user stories, and functional requirements into interface designs that handle workflow complexity.

• Design for common SaaS interaction patterns including:

  • data entry, inline editing, bulk operations
  • search/filtering, drill-down navigation
  • scheduled job monitoring, export/print formatting

• Iterate with evidence: Refine designs using feedback from UX Researchers, Product Managers, Engineering, and customers.

• Design system & component library:

  • Help establish and maintain a unified design system and component library for the CEM platform.
  • Design and document reusable components (e.g., form controls, data tables, navigation, status indicators, modals, notifications, reporting layouts) with states, usage guidelines, and accessibility annotations.
  • Define/evolve the visual language (typography, color, spacing, iconography, elevation) suited to a data-intensive financial application.

• Research collaboration & user-centered design:

  • Partner with UX Researchers to incorporate findings and usability results into design decisions.
  • Participate in research sessions (usability testing, customer interviews, contextual inquiries).
  • Use research to validate hypotheses and guide iterative testing cycles.

Requirements

• Ability to design production-ready UI and create wireframes/mockups/prototypes/specs.
• Experience translating complex product requirements into clear interfaces.
• Strong collaboration with UX Research, Product, and Engineering to ensure fidelity and alignment.
• Bias toward evidence-informed iteration.
• Familiarity with building and maintaining design systems/component libraries.

Nice-to-haves

• Domain knowledge or strong interest in equity compensation workflows (e.g., plan administration, ESPP) and designing for data-intensive financial SaaS experiences.
