About the role

Role Overview

Join Viget’s industry-leading development team as a UI & CMS Developer. You’ll build visually rich digital experiences and compelling products, collaborating with project managers, UX/visual designers, and other developers.

Responsibilities

Build both front-end and back-end features for modern web experiences and products
Develop new applications, content, and eCommerce sites using Craft CMS, WordPress, and other web technologies
Transform requirements into efficiently configured data models and performant queries
Provide an exceptional admin experience for client teams
Create visually accurate, responsive, and accessible interfaces from designs
Write clean, effective code:
- Front-end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Back-end: PHP
Extend CMS functionality by writing PHP plugins/modules
Build with templating such as Twig (e.g., Twig-based buildout)
Collaborate and maintain quality through:
- Code reviews
- Continuous integration/deployment practices
- Iterative development
Use AI tools to improve productivity while staying grounded in human-based craftsmanship

Requirements / Qualifications

Experience building CMS-driven solutions and digital products
Strong front-end and back-end development skills (HTML/CSS/JavaScript and PHP)
Experience defining and implementing data models and writing performant queries
Commitment to digital accessibility and building websites that work for everyone
Comfortable with modern web best practices and continuous learning
Strong communication and collaboration skills (standups, Slack, code reviews, occasional pair programming)

Nice to Have

Experience with (or strong eagerness to learn): DDEV, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js, Astro
