About the role

Role Overview

Spreetail is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to help ensure import operations are accurate, compliant, and efficient. You will own import entry audits, improve customs compliance processes, and build scalable tools that increase data accuracy and reduce duty overspend.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end import entry audits: review CBP documentation, identify discrepancies, drive corrective actions, and maintain audit-ready records.
  • Manage Post Summary Corrections (PSCs): validate duty payments, monitor broker performance, and partner with Finance to recover overpayments.
  • Support customs classification accuracy: review HTS assignments, resolve classification discrepancies, and provide guidance on complex issues.
  • Analyze import data to identify compliance risks, duty savings opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Build dashboards, automation, and reporting tools to improve data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Transportation, Finance, Merchandising, customs brokers, and other teams to improve processes and import data integrity.

Requirements

  • Experience with U.S. customs compliance, including:
    • CBP Form 7501
    • customs valuation
    • country of origin requirements
    • HTS classification
    • trade remedies such as Sections 301 and 232
  • Strong analytical skills to identify documentation and duty calculation errors and quantify financial impact.
  • Experience working with customs brokers and managing PSCs with a focus on importer of record requirements.
  • Advanced spreadsheet and data analysis skills (reports, calculators, dashboards, or automation).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to influence process improvements and manage compliance risks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience building automation/reporting to improve compliance data accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to guide complex customs classification decisions.
