About the role
Role overview
Leidos is hiring a Tester (Functional / QA Engineer) to support quality assurance activities for system development and data migration efforts for a large government agency. The role is telework with a customer primarily located in the Washington DC area, and it will help shape the agency’s technology roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Requirements gathering & analysis: collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand, gather, and document business requirements.
- Pega application build & configuration: design, configure, and build Pega applications (case management, workflows, user interfaces, business logic) using Pega App Studio and Pega Dev Studio.
- System integration: implement integrations with databases, REST/SOAP web services, and legacy systems.
- Testing & QA: perform unit and integration testing; debug applications; support system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Defects & quality: identify, document, track, and help validate defect resolution.
- Data migration validation: validate data integrity and support data migration testing.
- Documentation & maintenance: create and maintain documentation for design, configurations, and system changes; troubleshoot issues and enhance workflows.
- Best practices & collaboration: adhere to Pega development best practices/guardrails, participate in team meetings, and work within Agile/Scrum.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 5 years of experience in software testing or QA.
- Experience developing and executing functional, integration, and regression test cases.
- Experience supporting system testing and UAT, including defect validation.
- Ability to work with test documentation and traceability matrices.
- Familiarity with enterprise application testing and SDLC processes.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation.
- Exposure/knowledge of test management tools and defect tracking systems.
Preferred qualifications
- Active Public Trust (MBI).
