Test / QA Engineer

Role Overview

Aretum is seeking a Test / QA Engineer to validate system functionality, data accuracy, and integration performance for federal consulting work. The role may involve handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and requires adherence to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans across system components
• Validate data pipelines and risk scoring outputs
• Test APIs and integrations
• Support UAT with stakeholders
• Automate regression testing where feasible

Requirements

Testing & QA

• Experience with functional, integration, regression, and UAT support
• API testing using Postman and REST clients, including automated API validation
• Data validation using SQL, dataset comparison, and reconciliation checks
• Test automation with basic scripting (Python/JavaScript) and test frameworks
• Defect tracking using Jira (or similar tools)
• Test case design with requirements traceability and edge case identification

Performance, CI/CD, and Documentation

• Basic performance testing concepts (e.g., load testing and response validation)
• Running tests in CI/CD pipelines
• Creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and defect reports

Domain & Collaboration

• Basic understanding of healthcare data to validate outputs logically
• Ability to collaborate with engineers to isolate and reproduce issues

Travel / Work Location

• Remote position with occasional travel (<10%) for project needs, client meetings, team events, or training

Eligibility

• Public Trust eligibility required
• Requires ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination
• Due to federal contract requirements, must be a U.S. citizen
