Test Automation Engineer

Role: Test Automation Engineer

Design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks for enterprise web, API, and distributed systems to help teams deliver software with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium)
• Develop maintainable automated test scripts covering critical business flows and edge cases
• Implement API test automation using tools like REST Assured and Postman/Newman
• Create and maintain test suites: regression, smoke, sanity, and functional
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
• Execute cross-browser and cross-platform testing with attention to compatibility/performance
• Validate end-to-end data integrity using SQL
• Partner with developers to “shift quality left”: improve testability, identify defects early
• Support performance testing efforts (JMeter, Gatling, k6)
• Maintain test documentation, traceability, and defect tracking
• Perform root-cause analysis on production issues and drive lasting quality improvements
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, quality retrospectives)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
• 4+ years QA automation experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
• Experience automating REST APIs
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies and the SDLC
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD
• Strong SQL skills for data validation
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Excellent debugging, analytical, communication, and documentation skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with performance testing tools: JMeter, Gatling, k6
• Knowledge of containerized test environments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud-based testing environments
