Test Automation Engineer (ACWS)

Role Overview

Join the Army Contract Writing System (ACWS) within the Acquisition, Training and Readiness (AT&R) Program Management Office (PMO). As a Test Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure software quality, security, and reliability in a secure IL4 enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Test Automation Strategy: Design, implement, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks.
• Test Development & Execution: Develop, execute, and troubleshoot complex automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Use FitNesse: Perform collaborative, wiki-based acceptance testing to align requirements between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Use Tosca (Tricentis): Implement model-based, script-less automation for enterprise applications and APIs.
• Pipeline Orchestration: Integrate automated testing into DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate with software engineering and cybersecurity teams to resolve issues.
• QA Reporting: Produce test reports, risk assessments, and quality metrics for program managers and stakeholders.
• Compliance: Ensure automated testing meets DoW DevSecOps standards and securely handles mission data up to IL4.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance, test engineering, and test automation.
• Demonstrated expertise with Tricentis Tosca (model-based testing, API testing, UI automation).
• Strong working knowledge of FitNesse (building and maintaining acceptance test suites).
• Ability to extend automation frameworks using scripting/programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
• Experience with Git and modern SDLC practices in an Agile environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher (or an applicable accredited training certificate).

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience testing ERP systems, web applications, and microservices architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.

Work Conditions

• Majority of work is remote, with occasional travel to client sites.
