Technical Webflow Developer / Frontend Engineer

Role overview

You’ll join a collaborative 4-person web team as a Technical Webflow Developer / Frontend Engineer, acting as the technical lead for the website. You’ll partner with a UX/UI designer to build modular Webflow components, extend Webflow with custom JavaScript, and design scalable CMS architectures.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage the day-to-day website workflow, including content publishing and CMS entries management
• Translate UX/UI designs into robust Webflow structures using standard naming conventions
• Build modular components and scalable CMS collection structures and template pages
• Write custom scripts to extend Webflow capabilities (DOM manipulation + component logic)
• Monitor and optimize technical health of the site
• Collaborate with the Web Manager to keep codebase and custom script documentation organized
• Improve site performance by addressing page-speed bottlenecks

Requirements

• Strong front-end fundamentals: semantic HTML5, modern CSS3 (Flexbox/Grid/responsive units)
• Vanilla JavaScript and/or jQuery
• Deep, production-level experience with Webflow Designer, CMS collections, and template pages
• Performance engineering experience: auditing and improving page speed (render-blocking scripts, heavy DOM depth, unoptimized assets)
• Systems mindset: build robust, self-contained, non-fragile components with clear boundaries
• Understanding of Webflow motion capabilities: Interactions (IX2/IX3) and CSS transitions for lightweight animations
• Comfortable working on a small team, including quick content edits and daily publishing

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Webflow extension libraries such as Finsweet Attributes
