About the role
Role overview
You’ll be the first point of contact for customer support as a Technical Support Engineer (L1 Frontline Support), helping users resolve common issues and supporting the developer community.
Key missions / responsibilities
- Handle inbound support requests and resolve common issues related to:
- API usage
- Onboarding
- Authentication
- Integrations
- Billing
- Escalate complex cases to L2/L3 support or engineering while keeping tickets accurate, including:
- current ticket status
- reproduction steps
- relevant logs
- Identify recurring questions and improve documentation, FAQs, and onboarding materials
- Support and help manage online developer communities
Requirements
- Strong technical communication skills
- At least 2 years of experience in technical support, QA, or engineering
- Working proficiency in Python
Nice-to-haves
- DevRel experience (e.g., Discord community management, technical blogs/podcasts/videos)
- Prior experience with Databento’s API
- Familiarity with financial trading and/or market data
- Troubleshooting tools experience (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump, curl, jq, SQL, and others listed)
- Observability tools experience (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Sentry)
- Experience at an early-stage startup
