About the role

Role Overview

Technical Program Manager – Release Management supports end-to-end release management for catalog-based offerings in a structured enterprise environment. The role ensures Azure DevOps is the source of truth for release status, dependencies, risks, and reporting, while driving release workflows with proactive coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full release lifecycle for catalog items: intake, validation, release coordination, and post-release tracking.
  • Monitor active releases in Azure DevOps, keeping work items, timelines, dependencies, risks, and blockers accurate and up to date.
  • Review and validate release requests before submission into downstream release processes.
  • Coordinate release timelines, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies across cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Track release status, risks, and blockers, driving issue resolution to keep releases on schedule.
  • Define, maintain, and govern Azure DevOps structures (Features, PBIs, Tasks, change requests, backlogs, iteration paths, and delivery timelines).
  • Ensure Azure DevOps data remains complete, accurate, and consistently maintained for tracking and reporting.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting views covering active releases, change requests, portfolio health, timelines, risks, and upcoming milestones.
  • Facilitate stakeholder syncs, release readiness discussions, and governance-style reviews.
  • Support workflow execution activities such as asset list updates, go-to-market submissions, artifact validation, and release readiness checks.
  • Identify process gaps and drive improvements to reduce duplication, rework, and inconsistencies.
  • Standardize release management workflows, templates, field definitions, and tracking practices within Azure DevOps.
  • Support release communications (stakeholder updates, monthly communications, change notices, milestone reminders).
  • Provide ad hoc operational support for urgent changes, escalations, and release-impacting issues.

Requirements

  • Hands-on Azure DevOps experience.
  • Proactive stakeholder coordination.
  • Ability to drive release workflows forward without close supervision.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience managing release processes and governance in a structured enterprise environment.
  • Experience creating dashboards/reporting views in Azure DevOps.
