Role overview

Join Cohere as a Technical Program Manager (Product Engineering) to help scale execution across multiple product teams building AI-powered experiences. You’ll create the program structure, rhythms, and visibility mechanisms that enable cross-functional delivery with clarity.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end release coordination for North, including:
- Managing release trains and defining cadences
- Ensuring smooth execution across engineering and product teams
Drive cherry-pick and hotfix approval workflows:
- Triaging urgency, aligning stakeholders, and shepherding changes to deployment with guardrails
Establish and scale release processes to improve shipping speed and confidence as the platform grows
Map cross-team dependencies and risks, and respond quickly to program-level changes
Partner with leadership and technical staff to keep delivery aligned
Manage project tracking tools and maintain program visibility

Requirements

4+ years as an Engineering or Technical Program Manager, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment where you built programs
Experience running multiple simultaneous workstreams and identifying cascading risks early
Strong executive communication: distill complex multi-team status into decision-ready updates and know when to escalate
Ability to influence cross-functionally without authority (e.g., Finance, GTM, engineering)
Builder mindset: comfortable creating process in ambiguous, low-structure environments
Fluency with AI/ML product development
Experience working with technical leads; able to discuss technical dependencies and constraints

Nice-to-haves

Prior work in an AI or LLM product company
Experience building OKR or roadmapping systems from scratch in a scaling org
