About the role

Role: Technical Program Manager - New Product Introduction

Reports to: Head of Delivery
Dotted line: Product and China Operations leadership

Role Overview

Lead cross-functional program execution to bring new connected hardware products to market. Own the end-to-end timeline for new product introductions, coordinating dependencies and risks across software, hardware, manufacturing, and business operations to ensure launches are on time and high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end program timeline from concept through launch, integrating engineering, manufacturing, and business readiness milestones
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Product, Marketing, Customer Support, Operations, and Commercial teams for launch readiness
  • Define, track, and communicate milestones, readiness gates, and decision points; surface risks and dependencies early
  • Partner with the Engineering TPM to align software/firmware execution and release readiness with program commitments
  • Partner with the China Hardware Program Lead to incorporate factory timelines, sample availability, certification milestones, and manufacturing risks into the global plan
  • Participate in occasional after-hours coordination with global partners (typically ~9:00 p.m. EST, ~4 months/year, 2–3 calls/week during peak; target once/week via strong planning)
  • Identify and manage cross-functional risks and tradeoffs across scope, timeline, cost, and quality
  • Ensure non-engineering teams have clear deliverables and timelines for successful launches
  • Drive structured communication and documentation so decisions, changes, and dependencies are captured and shared

Requirements / What You Bring

  • Understand how manufacturing, hardware, software, and operations connect to deliver products
  • Systems-oriented approach; strong ability in complex, cross-functional environments
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, turning it into clear structure and execution
  • Clear, confident communication with senior leaders and execution teams
  • Strong focus on predictability, preparation, and avoiding last-minute heroics

Nice-to-Haves

  • Hands-on experience delivering complex hardware + software products through full product lifecycles (early development through manufacturing ramp and market launch)
  • Experience working with global teams and partners, particularly around manufacturing and development cycles
