Technical Program Manager, Infrastructure

Role Overview

Figma is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM), Infrastructure to lead key cross-company engineering efforts that require coordinated technical execution. This role focuses on helping Figma’s infrastructure teams scale, improve performance, and deliver critical infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do

• Lead execution, coordination, and risk management for infrastructure projects, ensuring minimal performance impact and seamless integration.
• Drive major infrastructure initiatives across:
  • Reliability and high-availability improvements
  • Storage and data infrastructure
  • Distributed systems and cloud-native performance improvements
  • Compliance programs, including encryption/key management, FedRAMP, and SOC 2
• Partner with Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Legal to ensure alignment and on-time delivery.
• Track milestones and ensure delivery across multiple infrastructure areas, including data, caching, observability, and security engineering.
• Provide regular updates to executive leadership and external/internal stakeholders, including risks, blockers, and dependencies.
• Develop infrastructure program management best practices to improve visibility into progress, risks, and technical dependencies.
• Facilitate large-scale testing and rollout strategies for critical infrastructure changes to minimize downtime.
• Translate technical constraints and risks into executive-level communications.

Requirements

• 8+ years in Infrastructure TPM or related roles (cloud engineering, SRE, or infra-focused software engineering).
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Strong technical depth across infrastructure components, including:
  • Storage: S3, RDS, DynamoDB
  • Caching: Redis
  • Search: OpenSearch
  • Event-driven systems: Kafka
• Track record delivering large-scale infrastructure programs (e.g., migrations, cost optimization, encryption/key management, reliability).
• Strong cross-functional program management skills across multiple engineering teams.
• Proven stakeholder management, including experience with external partners (cloud providers, enterprise customers) and executive communication.

• Experience setting up and scaling TPM/program management functions or practices.
