Technical Program Manager

Role Overview

Technical Program Manager for Acorns’ Trade and Risk Platform. You’ll lead the evolution of the platform to support high-quality customer experiences, maintain a robust risk posture, and scale systems for global use in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure strategy & roadmap: Partner with Trading Operations, Risk, and Data Science to define and execute the trade, risk, and operations roadmap.
• Customer experience optimization: Improve day-to-day trading experience and lead changes tied to risk/trading, while using “Smart Friction” to keep customers safe.
• Risk workflow orchestration: Build and manage tools that let Risk Operations update rules and manage queues with reduced engineering dependency.
• Vendor management: Evaluate and implement third-party trading, risk, and operations tools to improve efficiency and unlock capabilities.
• Operational efficiency: Apply “Operations as a Customer” principles by driving AI workflow strategies and tools that scale team value and efficiency.

Requirements

• 4+ years of program management experience in fintech, risk, financial operations, or payments.
• Technical proficiency with APIs, SQL, and the mechanics of Machine Learning decisioning engines.
• Ability to understand how risk and operations systems interact at a technical level.
• Customer obsession with the ability to reflect the brand through the risk platform.
• Agile mastery: communicate complex trade-offs and lead agile teams with a builder mindset.
• Data-driven approach: data analysis skills to articulate trade-offs between risk posture and customer friction.
• Strong execution drive and precision; willingness to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement.
