Technical Program Manager - Games Social, Trust and Safety

Role Overview

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) – Games Social, Trust and Safety within Netflix Games Engineering, you will drive end-to-end programs that bring social gaming experiences to life. You’ll ensure these features are underpinned by world-class trust and safety capabilities, protecting members while enabling delightful and scalable interactions.

What You’ll Do

• Own end-to-end program delivery for Games Social initiatives, including:
  • Friend systems and multiplayer social features
  • Communication capabilities
  • Platform infrastructure enabling shared play across TV, mobile, web, and cloud
• Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to define, scope, and ship social capabilities that move members from solo to connected experiences.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies across engineering, studio, product, and other teams—especially in ambiguous 0-to-1 build environments.
• Proactively manage risk, identifying issues early and bringing solutions (critical for trust & safety where gaps can have outsized member impact).
• Communicate effectively with both technical audiences (deep, meaningful engagement with engineers) and leadership (tight executive summaries and technical updates).

Requirements

• Experienced technical program manager with a track record delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programs involving:
  • Social platforms
  • Safety-by-design online community features
• Technically fluent enough to engage with platform and application engineers.
• Understanding of (or strong fluency with) areas including:
  • Social system architectures
  • Real-time communication infrastructure
  • Content moderation pipelines
  • Safety tooling
• Systems thinking and ability to map dependencies and drive clarity in ambiguous settings.
• Strong communication skills across audiences.
• Proactive risk management and collaborative execution.
• AI-native workflow: using AI tools to accelerate delivery, surface risks, and synthesize information.

Nice to Have

• Experience building or scaling trust and safety systems for large online communities.
• Demonstrated ability to balance AI-assisted work with human cross-functional coordination when judgment is required.
