Technical Program Manager, Extensibility Programs

Role Overview

Stripe is seeking a product-focused Technical Program Manager to drive the Extensibility program within the Developer Experience & Product Platform (DEeP) organization. The role spans multiple workstreams—Workflows, Custom Objects, and Scripts—and sits at the intersection of platform engineering, product management, and cross-organizational program ownership.

Team & Product Context

DEeP empowers Stripe products with shared platform capabilities that deliver consistent UI and API experiences. Within DEeP, Extensibility expands Stripe’s addressable market and improves customer retention by making Stripe programmable through:

• Scripts: secure, isolated TypeScript runtime for customizing Stripe behavior (e.g., discount calculations, invoice logic, proration)
• Custom Objects: user-defined data models with first-class APIs/SDKs/Dashboard experiences
• Workflows: programmable orchestration layer (including custom actions, delays, smart retries, and 3P integrations)

Responsibilities

• Drive cross-org decisions across DRIs spanning Script Platform, Custom Objects, Apps, SDK, Observability, DevEx, and Versioning—resolving ambiguous integration and ownership questions between team boundaries.
• Own the critical path for major launches by shaping scope, driving descope decisions, and negotiating trade-offs across teams.
• Influence product and engineering roadmaps by providing program-level perspective during planning cycles, challenging misalignment with the broader extensibility strategy, and advocating for cross-cutting investments.
• Support ProServ and Partnerships by ensuring their requirements are surfaced with the same rigor as product requirements and serving as the bridge between platform delivery and complex customer needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical program management experience with demonstrated success leading complex cross-organizational programs.
• Strong product sense and ability to connect program outcomes to product strategy (text cut off in posting).
