Technical Program Manager - EU / UK

Role Overview

As a Technical Program Manager at Marqeta, you will lead technical workstreams and coordinate across engineering teams to deliver complex projects on time and within scope. You’ll work within the Product Operations and Technical Program Management function, acting as the connective tissue between engineering, product, design, TechAI, go-to-market, and customer-facing teams.

What You’ll Do

• Drive technical projects from concept to completion, managing scope, schedule, and resources
• Identify dependencies, risks, and issues and develop mitigation strategies
• Facilitate communication and alignment between engineering, product, design, and business teams
• Lead technical planning, estimation, and prioritization sessions
• Document technical decisions and ensure alignment across stakeholders
• Provide regular status updates to leadership and remove obstacles for engineering teams
• Balance technical tradeoffs with business requirements and timelines

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• 3+ years of technical program/project management experience
• Strong understanding of relevant technologies and software development methodologies (S-SDLC)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and development practices
• Ability to understand complex technical systems and communicate effectively

Nice to Haves

• PMP or Scrum Master (or other relevant) certification
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira or Asana
• Data analysis and visualization skills
• Experience with electronic payments and/or accounting systems
