Technical Program Manager, Aviation Delivery

Role Overview

Viasat is seeking a Technical Program Manager (Aviation Delivery) to lead the end-to-end delivery of software delivery requests for Commercial and Business Aviation customers—from inception through Entry Into Service. You will partner closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to plan, deliver, manage risk, and improve operational efficiency across a global portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end software delivery program execution for multiple aviation accounts and timelines.
• Build and maintain software product delivery plans across global accounts.
• Run stakeholder planning and review meetings for delivery items.
• Collaborate with Product Management on cross-domain delivery item prioritization.
• Manage delivery requirements across intake and development tools (e.g., JIRA, Monday.com).
• Ensure requirements are normalized, validated, and clear across Business, Product, Engineering, and partners.
• Track and report delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and success metrics with Engineering, Operations, and Partner teams.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, delays, and blockers; escalate effectively when needed.
• Capture lessons learned after each delivery wave and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead and motivate cross-discipline teams across multiple organizations and geographic sites.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering.
• 5–10 years experience in Project/Program Management focused on software development.
• 4+ years experience as a software or systems engineer on product development projects.
• Ability to monitor, lead, and report milestones, risks, issues, and decisions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive resolutions to closure.
• Ability to understand complex systems at a system architectural level.
• Foundational knowledge of program/project management theories and practices.
• Ability to apply skills autonomously with minimal direction.

• Background in systems engineering or software development.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile and a critical thinking mindset.
