Role Overview
Join Twilio as a Principal, Technical Program Management (Research & Development). You will lead a portfolio of strategic, complex, multidisciplinary programs to accelerate R&D’s business impact. This is a highly visible role requiring strong program strategy, execution rigor, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Missions / Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact cross-organizational technical programs, ensuring alignment and unified delivery goals.
- Define and drive execution strategy for large-scale initiatives, including governance models and integration approaches.
- Build and refine operating cadences, reporting standards, and readiness dashboards to improve R&D execution.
- Drive technical alignment through deep participation in architecture and integration discussions.
Requirements
- Ability to engage in architecture/integration discussions and identify hidden technical risks and complexity.
- Strong influence without authority and relationship-building across senior stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Execution rigor: default-to-action mindset; create and enforce mechanisms such as dashboards, cadences, and checklists.
- 10+ years managing technical projects in the software engineering domain.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Excellent communication skills to produce executive-ready narratives and clear tradeoff recommendations.
- Proven program leadership delivering large-scale technical programs across multiple organizations with multi-quarter timelines and dependencies.
- Comfort with ambiguity and shifting specifications/standards.
- Experience in telephony, email, messaging, social media, or other electronic communications.
- 5+ years of technical program management at a hyperscaler or Fortune 100 cloud software/infrastructure company.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or related field).
