About the role

Role Overview

BD Performing Arts is seeking a Technical Product Owner/Manager to help realize its future vision through modern information technology and AI. The role owns the full lifecycle of internal and external applications and websites, with an emphasis on translating ideas into validated, intuitive user experiences and ensuring quality execution through an outsourced development team.

Responsibilities

Drive requirements gathering using user research across a wide range of users and stakeholders.
Translate ideas, user needs, and business requirements into high-fidelity UI designs using Figma.
Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and UI specifications; align clarity for both stakeholders and developers.
Facilitate iterative design reviews, validate usability, and refine based on feedback.
Convert research insights into user stories and acceptance criteria; prioritize and maintain the feature backlog.
Collaborate with outsourced/offshore developers to ensure accurate implementation and maintain alignment.
Manage day-to-day delivery activities: sprint planning, QA coordination, and release scheduling.
Maintain product roadmaps for third-party and proprietary software platforms.
Partner with teams across the organization to support technical initiatives and innovate offerings.
Report progress, risks, and results to executive leadership on a regular cadence.

Required Qualifications

Experience as a Product Owner (or similar product management role).
Strong, demonstrated proficiency with Figma (wireframes, prototypes, design systems, developer-ready UI specs).
Professional experience working with software development teams and modern development processes including Scrum and AI-assisted coding.
Progressive vision for AI, including coding (preferred: Claude Code), agents, security, and responsible AI.
Hands-on experience managing the full product lifecycle.
Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies.
Team-oriented, with strong communication and facilitation skills.
BA/BS in social sciences, marketing, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to Have

PMP or CSM certification.
Interest/passion for pageantry, marching music, or performing arts.
Experience with event management software or event-driven businesses.
