About the role

Role Overview

As a Technical Product Manager at Clarus (within Independence Pet Group), you will shape the future of pet insurance technology by delivering customer-centric product initiatives from concept through launch. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Design, Operations, and Marketing to create scalable solutions that improve outcomes for veterinary teams, pet parents, and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Product Execution & Delivery: Collaborate with the Director of Product to execute roadmaps and deliver features and enhancements on time.
  • Customer & Market Insights: Conduct user research, gather feedback, and analyze market trends to guide product decisions.
  • Requirements & Documentation: Translate business needs into clear requirements for design and engineering teams.
  • Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, UI Design, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure smooth development and successful launches.
  • Quality & Performance Monitoring: Support testing/QA and perform post-launch analysis to ensure quality and performance.
  • Go-to-Market Support: Assist with product documentation, training materials, and internal communications for launches.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience (preferably B2B SaaS, insurance technology, or related digital platforms)
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Experience launching new commercial products or features
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams
  • Experience with Agile and tools such as ADO, Jira, and Aha!
  • Analytical mindset leveraging data for decisions
  • Technical aptitude and comfort working with engineers daily

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance industry experience (P&C, life, health, or embedded insurance)
  • Pet health or pet insurance experience
  • Familiarity with APIs, digital transformation initiatives, or InsurTech platforms

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience), or Associate’s degree in a technical field, or a relevant technical certification
