About the role

Role: Technical Product Manager

As a Product Manager at Clarus (within Independence Pet Group), you’ll help shape pet insurance technology by taking customer-centric initiatives from concept through launch. You’ll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Operations, and Marketing to deliver meaningful business impact and excellent user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Product execution & delivery: Collaborate with the Director of Product to execute product roadmaps and deliver features and enhancements on time.
  • Customer & market insights: Conduct user research, gather customer feedback, and analyze market trends to guide product decisions.
  • Requirements & documentation: Translate business needs into clear requirements for design and engineering teams.
  • Backlog management: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, balancing near-term delivery with long-term strategy.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Engineering, UI Design, Marketing, and Customer Success to support development and launches.
  • Quality & performance monitoring: Support testing/QA and perform post-launch analysis to ensure quality and performance.
  • Go-to-market support: Help prepare product documentation, training materials, and internal communications for launches.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience (ideally B2B SaaS, insurance technology, or related digital platforms)
  • 5+ years professional experience
  • Experience launching new commercial products/features
  • Strong communication and collaboration across teams, with ability to negotiate effectively
  • Experience with Agile and tools such as ADO, Jira, Aha!
  • Analytical mindset; ability to leverage data
  • Technical aptitude and comfort working with engineers daily
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; or Associate’s in a technical field; or relevant technical certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the insurance industry (P&C, life, health, or embedded insurance)
  • Pet health or pet insurance experience
  • Familiarity with APIs, digital transformation, or InsurTech platforms
