Technical Lead - Full Stack

Role overview

Clockwork Systems is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead (Frontend / Full Stack) to lead the design and development of rich, interactive visual interfaces backed by scalable, high-performance backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across frontend and full-stack initiatives.
• Lead and mentor engineers through design reviews, technical coaching, and career development.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, prototype, and deliver end-to-end web applications and interactive visualizations.
• Build modern front-end interfaces and scalable backend services with emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Drive best practices for code quality, testing, observability, and system scalability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize roadmap items and deliver high-impact solutions.
• Continuously improve platform performance, usability, and developer productivity using modern tools and technologies.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, HTML, and backend languages including Go and Python.
• Significant experience creating custom data visualizations.
• Experience with Vue and visualization technologies such as SVG and D3 (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail, communication, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, inclusive environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with HPC environments and cloud/container technologies such as Kubernetes and Azure.

Compensation & benefits

• Competitive compensation with a base salary range of $180,000 – $260,000 (varies by skills/experience and internal equity).
• May include stock options/equity awards.
